ViSAS staff training in Fürstenberg, Germany

Opening the virtual stage

ENGLISH VERSION

GERMAN VERSION

From 3 to 5 May 2022, the ViSAS project partners met at Verstehbahnhof in Fürstenberg, Germany for a joint project training. Our goal was to expand the previous ways of designing and using the ViSAS platform, to learn more skills on how to work with young people on the platform, to exchange ideas about integrating more content and to start creating this content with the help of Pixelart.

To get started, a refresher workshop was held in which we got to know the usage possibilities of WorkAdventure, the host of our platform, in more detail. Here we learned how to build more complex content for our ViSAS world with the help of Pixelart, how to insert audio, video and image elements and how to upload maps we created ourselves to a server so that we can use them together as a group. In small creative groups we worked together on new content for our map of Europe, which is our platform. For example, we created the Colosseum in Rome or a theatre and a rehearsal room, which reflect the Projektfabrik in Witten. We also created a music centre in Italy and an art gallery. Users of the platform will have the opportunity to present their art here. Visitors from all over Europe can then marvel at them.

In the further course of the training, we also got to know other examples of platforms for inspiration and as a comparison to our previous work. This again highlighted the versatility of the platform and how many different settings it can be used in. Based on these examples and our developed understanding of social artistic youth work in the digital space, we determined what was just missing for the further development of the platform. In order to share our reflections with the target group of ViSAS‘ and to get helpful input, we met online with a youth group from Dortmund. Here, students from the TU Dortmund also presented their own ideas and wishes for the further use of the platform.

The continuation of the platform after the end of the project and the Summer Camp in August in Witten, Germany were also topics at our training. More about this will follow here shortly.
